Bangalore: Chitraloka.com Website Enters Limca Book of Records Again

Bangalore, Dec 1: The popular website devoted exclusively to Kannada film industry, which has notched several feathers in its cap during the last 10 years of its existence, has found a place in the coveted Limca Book of Records yet again.

The website, run and managed by journalist K M Veeresh, has secured the honour for its achievement of showcasing nearly 3,000 stills of around 3000 Kannada films starting from Sathi Sulochana (1935) to the film Nam Yejamaanaru (released on 27 February 2009) during the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Kannada film industry held at Palace Grounds in Bangalore in March this year.



The Limca Book of Records has included Chitraloka.com’s achievement in the 2010 Book of records, which is due to hit the stands in January 2010.

The three day platinum jubilee was a pride event of the Kannada film industry was held at the Palace Grounds on March 1 to 3, 2009, when the Chitraloka Photo exhibition turned out to be a star attraction.  Thousands of viewers visited the Photo exhibition to share their joy and remember some  nostalgic moments about the Kannada films.  Puneet Raj Kumar and Ms. Parvathamma Raj Kumar were the chief guests.

Chitraloka. com has expressed its thanks and gratitude to Ms  Parvarthamma Rajkumar, Dr Vishnuvardhan, Ravichandran, Puneeth Rajkumar, Ganesh and all the film industry persons, including Karnataka film chamber of commerce  office-bearers including  Ms. Jayamala, President, Sa.Ra. Govindoo, K.C.N.Kumar, Thomas D'Souza and many others for their help.

Earlier in 2006, Chitraloka.com organised a photo exhibition of the stills of Kannada films that has been released starting from Sathi Sulochana released in 1934 till August 11, 2006. The occasion was Suvarna Karnataka year and the Kannada film industry had completed 72 years of its existence.  Limca Book of Records recognized this feat and has included the achievement in the list published in 2008 edition under the Cinema Chapter

Chitraloka.com seeks to reach out to its browsers by offering more in terms of content and design besides providing video clippings of major events.
