Devotees Celebrate ‘Subramanya Shasti’ with Great Fervour Across Undivided DK

Udupi, Nov 23: People across undivided Dakshina Kannada (DK) celebrated ‘Subramanya Shasti’ with great fervour on Monday November 23.

Devotees from all walks of life and especially those couples seeking progeny offered special prayers to Lord Subramanya in various temples across undivided DK on the occasion. 








The temples dedicated to Lord Subramanya at Kukke in Puttur taluk, Kirimanjeshwar, Sooda, Santhoor, Kalavara, and also Vasuki Subramanya, Muchilagod, Aranthod, Doddanagudde, and Paduperampalli, were thronged by numerous of devotees on Monday.

Devotees of Lord Subramanya believe that the deity will grant them marital bliss, progeny, and relief from various ailments. 

Lord Subramanya is called by various names such as ‘Skanda’ in north India, ‘Muruga’, ‘Shanmuga’, and ‘Armuga’ in Tamil Nadu, and ‘Subramanya Swami’ in the costal districts here.

Special prayers and worship to Lord Subramanya was offered in various temples across the region.

    shree kukke subrahmanya temple& khethra is really a very good and holy place in all respects such as location in the midst of forest,green vegetation around,sacred river nearby,dark green Hilly background,appreciable accommodation, very punctual in worship of deity by the priests,cleanliness inside and outside the temple,money worth sevas with prasadam,super tasty food to the devotees by way of prasadam,very holy madi seva never found in any other temple,offerings to lord gives all that great satisfaction,treating devotees in a cordial manner,free clock room,all the sevas are being conducted in right time,very punctual in attending sevas by the temple preists,no discrimination with respect to caste creed etc.,availability of all commodities required by the devotees making arathi, afternoon mahapooja and prokshanam or sprinkling of holy water on the devottes both after noon and evening,harike like uruluseve,arrangement of yakshaganam very often in the temple,service motive of all the priests and other employees, grandeur of annual chariot festival which falls on margashira shuddha shashti,tasty break fast of two hotels one opposite to other,beautiful young elephant of holy temple,impartial allotment of accommodation,grand decoration of lord subrahmanya deity inside the sacred sanctum sanctorium , the highly charged atmosphere with full of devotion by the real devotees,good road and rail connectivity to this temple and all and what not.     Not only common people,even Big Celebriities like Kapoor family from Bollywood,Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri from Cricket field have started coming to Subramanya temple.Daiji ..lovely covering of the entire episode.
