Mangalore, Nov 22:
The Mahila Sabha celebrated its annual day with a ‘Dandia Raas’ dance programme at their hall near Jyothi Circle on Saturday November 21.

The Mahila Sabha office-bearers had organized the event as part of their annual day celebrations to bring together all the members. Most of the women senior citizens also stepped to the music beats.

The members had practiced ‘dandia’ for this event. This year, the Mahila Sabha decided to celebrate in a simple way as a mark of respect for the people in the flood-affected areas of north Karnataka region.

Suchetha Shetty, member of Mahila Sabha, said that such cultural events help all members to mingle with each other and brings in equality with the theme of national integrity.

I fully agree with u Shahnawaz. that is the spirit. if there is no love,no tolerance,no peace means we r not humanbeings. a mother has to teach all these values in childrens life. A mother and a teacher is a role model to all children. so let us all teach our children how to become a good humanbeing first.

My advice to Mahila Sabha is just dont polarise it.Please make it more secular. Its group of women from every section of society. Not only celebrate dandia, but also celebrate, diwali, eid, easter, christmas, new year, ugadi, baisaki and unite people.

Spread the message of love and peace in the society and teach your children about the need of tolerance and harmony for a peace and prosperity of nation. Mother is the first tutor and home is first school.

Women has a major role to play in the nation building. A good woman shall be good wife, good mother, good daughter, good daughter in law, good sister in law, good aunt, good granny and a very good human being.
