Bahrain: ‘Bunts Bahrain’ Fun Cricket and Sports Day

Bahrain, Nov 18: 'Bunts Bahrain,' a social and cultural organization, had organized a family get-together, fun cricket and sports day for its members on November 13, 2009 at Sheikh Abdul Aziz School ground, Adliya.

More than 200 members participated in this event. The event started at 8.00 am, and came to a close at 4.00 pm.

Breakfast and lunch were served to the members who participated in the event. A total of 11 teams, with six men and two women in each team, played an innings of five overs each. The team led by Arun Shetty and Ajith Shetty entered the finals. Arun Shetty’s team made 35 runs in the allotted five overs, and Ajith Shetty’s team won the tournament by scoring the required runs in 4.2 overs. 





































Ball by ball commentary was provided by Amarnath Rai, Sudhir Shetty, Naveen Shetty and Prabhath Shetty. Nithya Prakash, Ajith Shetty and Ravikiran were the official scorers. Hemanth Salian and D Ramesh were the official umpires for this tournament.

The first fifty members to arrive at the venue were given free insurance policies valid for a year, by New India Insurance manager, Sudhir Shetty.


While the elders were playing cricket, fun games were organized for the kids.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at 3.30 pm. Shantharam Shetty, group general manager of Ramee group of hotels, Jinraj Shetty, ex-president of Bunts Bahrain, Rajiv Menon, marketting manager of BMMI, senior members, Karunaker Shetty, Prabhath Shetty, Sudhakar Shettty, Amarnath Rai, Sudhir Shetty and Ravikiran were present at the post match ceremony.

Winners: Ajith Shetty’s Team
Runner-up: Arun Shetty’s Team
Best Batsman: Sagar Adyanthaya
Best Bowler: Naveen Shetty, Riffa
Man of the tournament: Arun Shetty.
Woman of the tournament: Prathima Arun Shetty

Subashchandra Shetty, Arun Shetty, Shivkumar Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Sharath Shetty, Praveen K Shetty Vishal Shetty, Ajith Shetty and Praveen S Shetty had taken over the responsibility of conducting these events.

Pradeep Shetty, president of Bunts Bahrain, thanked all the members for participating in the programme, and making it a grand success.
