Kuwait: 'Addressing NRI Problems is our Priority' Capt Karnik at Kannada Koota

Kuwait, Nov 15: Kuwait Kannada Koota, a premier Kannada organization in Kuwait, celebrated its Silver Jubilee Rajyotsava in grand style at the American International School, Hawally, Kuwait.

The program started sharp at 0900hrs with a procession of involving various charectors, all the participating children, the Executive committee lead by the President of the Koota Satish Chandra Shetty and our Ambassador Ajai Malhotra. The whole procession was accompanied by Chande Vaadana.

The program started with Naada Geethe “ Jaya Bharatha Jannaniya Thanujate, Jaya he Karnataka Mate” by the Koota men and ladies. This was followed by an “Invocation dance”. After the Invocation dance, our Karnataka Patriotic song  “Hucchevu Kannada deepa” with candle lights lit in the hands of all the committee members and coming on to the stage which was a wonderful sight to watch.

Then, Satish Chandra Shetty addressed the gathering and welcomed all the dignitaries assembled and all the Koota members. Our dear Ambassador His Excellency Shri. Ajai Malhotra in his address appreciated the efforts put by Kannada Koota in organizing the Silver Jubilee Rajyotsava of KKK. He particularly emphasized that he has evinced keen interest in attending the programs organized by KKK.  Our Chief guest  Capt.Ganesh Karnik, Deputy Chairman of NRI Forum, Karnataka who specially flew in from Bangalore to be a part of Silver Jubilee celebrations of KKK, spoke eloquently of how best the NRIs  from Karnataka can help build a beautiful Karnataka with good infrastructure. He said he would leave no stones unturned to attend to and solve the problems of NRIs from Karnataka.


























On this Silver Jubilee occasion all the ex Presidents from the year 1984 had gathered. They were felicitated on this occasion for their services rendered to the Koota.

We were fortunate to have the presence of Manohar Prasad, news bureau chief of Udaya Vani Newspaper from Karnataka who spoke on the importance of Kannada and richness of our culture to be imparted to our children. He was quite hilarious in his talk in comparing the richness of Kannada language to English.

The second part of the day’s long program was a presentation of variety entertainment program by the Koota members. The evening’s program was dedicated to the artists of “Prabahat Kalavidaru”, a cultural dance troupe from Bangalore, Karnataka.

The day’s long program was organized in a very flawless manner. The Executive committee comprising of Satish Chandra Shetty, President, Dinesh, Vice President, Girish Shenoy, Treasurer, Suresh Neramballi, cultural Secretary and Mr.Uday Vernekar, Sports Sectratary along with all the other committees gave a memorable Silver Jubilee Rajyotsava Program.
