Bantwal, Nov 15: The decennial celebrations of St John Mary Vianney’s parish, Bambil, was held at the parish on Sunday November 15 and it coincided with the 150th death anniversary of their patron saint

Fr Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues offered the Eucharistic Mass along with Bambil parish priest Fr Vincent Coelho, Fr J B Sequeira, Fr Peter Mendonca, Fr Michael Rodrigues, Fr Michael Lobo, and Fr Valerian D’Souza.

Fr Coelho presided over the stage programme held at Vianney Auditorium after the Holy Mass.

He also presented a memento of St John Mary Vianney and a copy of St John’s biography to the heads of each parish family.

Fr Patrick, after releasing the book on St John Mary Vianney, said that the local parish community has been blessed immensely by its patron saint.

Fr Patrick, himself a former parishioner of Bambil, conveyed his hope that the parish would become a focal point in promoting spiritual blessings among the laity.

Deanery vicar Fr Rocky D’Sa felicitated Fr Michael Lobo and Fr Paul Rego, who had served at Bambil parish, on the occasion.

Bambil parish council vice-president Casmir D’Souza, secretary Joaquim D’Souza, and ICYM parish unit president Rajesh Pinto, were present on the dais.

Felix D’Souza welcomed the gathering.  Lionel Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks and Dimple Fernandes compered the programme.

The entire parish community shared traditional Mangalorean pork delicacies prepared specially for the occasion.
