Mangalore, Nov 13: Nearly a month after a complaint was registered against Ullal MLA U T Khader on charges of kidnapping a woman, she clarified that she has not been abducted by anyone.

Deepa Naik made this statement when she came to Pandeswara police station on Friday November 13.

She clarified that media reports stating that she had been kidnapped by Khader were completely false and said that she had requested his help after she was tortured in a rehabilitation centre in Bangalore.

The complaint against Khader was registered in Sampigehalli police station in Bangalore.

Deepa came to Pandeswara police station and said that she had not lost her mental balance.

She claimed that the lure of her wealth had led her sister Bina Rai and her husband Ramanath Rai to label her mentally challenged.

Deepa said that they sent her to psychiatry wards in hospitals. Their torture continued as they kept her in a rehabilitation centre at Basavanagudi, Bangalore, in 2006.

“I was tortured there and kept in a closed room. Sometimes they made me clean toilets and do hard work like supplying water”, she said adding that she was beaten up by a iron rod if she protested.

“I sought help from my father’s friend U T Fareed’s son U T Khader, who is an MLA from Ullal constituency and he helped me leave the rehabilitation centre. I lived in his friend’s house in Bangalore and then came to came to Mangalore on August 23, 2009, after I was freed from rehabilitation centre on August 20”, said Deepa.

She is a post graduate in Constitutional Law from Bangalore University Law College.

Thank you Mr. Khader for a great job done. Also , Ms. Deepa , I admire your righteous will power , and the courage to have survived the barbarous time you must have gone through. God sent you Mr. Khader as an Angel. Also I greatly appreciate Daijiworld for this courageous reporting. You would do country Great Service if you can take this heinous crime and wrong reporting , and make the Central Government also aware of this gross Human Rights violation.

The Chief Minster , the Home Minister , and the Commissioner Police of the Karnataka Government should be asked to reply how come such Rehab Centres are functioning in violation of the basic right to a life with dignity - The matter should be taken up in the Lok Sabha , as well as the State Legislative Assembly - I urge you to please keep following this case till the culprits are are punished and the Corrective Steps taken.

This is a consequence of corrupt police officers and corrupt and politicians without a sense of Ethics. And Mr. Khader - thank you once again, God Bless you and Ms. Deepa wish you a bright future and God Bless you. AND DAIJIWORLD PLEASE DO NOT STOP HERE , YOU ARE TULY THE CONSCIENCE OF THE NATION - PLEASE CONTINUE THE GREAT JOB - YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THIS NATION'S DESTINY BY FOLLOWING THE CASE TILL JUSTICE AND TUE COMPENSATION IS GIVEN TO Ms. Deepa Naik - God bless your organization too - you are the best means to get perpetrators punished and ask the State Government to BE ACCOUNTABLE.

Firstly, hats off to you BRAVE LADY DEEPA, for not giving up and fighting for your FREEDOM. This is a case of gross violation of HUMAN RIGHTS by not only the persons where she was confined but also by the State machinery of the Karnataka Government. We require hundreds and thousandas of persons like Mr. Khader to stem this rot in our system.

Let the NHRC and AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL also look into the matter and carry out their investigation. The POLICE is equally responsible for this Human Rights violation. I wont be surprised if the Home Minister Mr. Acharya, and the Commissioner Police Mr. Bidari themselves are also involved in this horrific HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION

Thank you Mr. Khader for living up to your oath and conscience, and Ms. DEEPA - dont you worry, God will bless you much much more I AM PROUD OF YOU LADY. You should be honoured for your courage, bravery, despite the tortuos time you went through, and never gave up. Dont worry the GOD ALMIGHTY is with you.

How can rehabilitation centers have a healthy person kept there? It is criminal activity, punishable. These rehabilitation centers need to be closed as they have broken the law. Can any one shed light on this matter?
