Dubai, Nov 9: The Sunshine Sports Centre, Emirates organized Eid Milan-2009 at Zabeel Park here. Noted Islamic scholar, speaker Moulana Syed Salman Hasani Nadvi's presence added an extra aura to the programme.
The programme started with Bhatkali style lunch soon after Juma prayers. A small programme was organized after Asr Prayers that began with recitation of Quran by Hafeez Abdul Rawoof.
Moulana Jailani Akrami, president of the centre, Emirates, welcomed the gathering and Moulana Irshad Ali Afrika Nadvi vice-president presented the annual report of the organization. Representatives of BMJ Dubai, president and secretary of Markaz Al Nawayat, Abu Dhabi, secretary general Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council and two representatives of each sports centre were invited for the meet.
An interesting quiz competition for the audience was well organized by general secretary, Sun Shine Sports Centre, Emirates Aqeel Sidibapa.
Ruknaddin Abdul Qadir Basha Mohammed Bapu, the award winner from the Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Government for his 33 years of services in the department was felicitated by the sports centre. Moulana Talha Ruknaddin Nadvi appreciated the work taken by the Sunshine Sports Centre, Emirates.
Moulana Salman Nadvi added much more flavour to the programme with his small speech. A memento was presented to Janab Ruknaddin Abdul Qadir Basha Mohammed Bapu presented by Moulana Salman Nadvi.
Many unique and tasty sweets (Bhatkali Nashta) and hot tea were served during the programme, which were brought by the families of the members exclusively for the event. After maghrib prayers a special session was held to integrate with the members of the sunshine sports centre, with some useful instruction given by the vice-president Moulana Irshad Ali Afrika Nadvi.
Then came the much-awaited session of raffle draw organized by Abdul Mateen D F, Faiyaz Ahmed Qasimji, Mohammed Aqeel Siddibapa and Abrar Hassan Armar. Exciting prizes were given away to the winning members. Prizes included cash, electronics items, dinner set and a bumper prize in 4 burners super general and cooking range.
Separate quiz programmes and separate raffle draw was held for ladies present at the event. An interesting special quiz competition for children was well organized by Moulana Irshad Ali Afrika Nadvi. Finally the event came to an end with a delightful barbeque at about 10.00 pm.
