Muscat: Annual MCCP Cricket Tournament 2009 - A call for all MCCP Cricket Lovers

Muscat, Nov 4: The Mangalorean Catholic Center of the Parish, (MCCP, Sts. Peter & Paul Church – Ruwi will hold its annual cricket tournament for adults (ladies and gents) at the Muscat Sports Club, Al Wadi Al Kabir on Friday November 6.
Speaking to Daijiworld, Prescilla Machado, vice-president, Sports and Finance Committees, “MCCP annual cricket tournament is one of the most exciting and cherished event of the year. We, the whole executive team members, have worked hard to present one of the enchanting tournaments for our members with exciting fixture. The day will witness not only great cricket but also it will be an opportunity to share joy of community spirit and togetherness with fellow Mangaloreans residing in Muscat, she said.
Prescilla said, “This year for the first time in the history of MCCP, we have given top priority to our children and have dedicated one separate day, which is November 27 for them. We request all the members and their associate members to come in large numbers and be a part of an exciting day which is coming to bowl everyone with loads of entertainment”, she added.
As officially announced the day will commence at 9:00 am. Registration timings and categories are as follows. For men below 40 between 9.00 am and 9.30 am, while for men above 40 and ladies it is between 11.30 am to 12.30 pm and 12 noon and 1.00 pm, respectively. Boys studying in Std VIII onwards should register in the men below 40 category and girls studying in Std VIII onwards should register in the ladies category.
Traditional lunch will be served and the prize distribution will commence at 7.30 pm.
Talking to the enthusiastic leader and strength behind the success of many events of this year, popularly known as emperor of records (Dakleancho Samrat) of MCCP, Suraj Rebello says “ Everyone is looking forward to this annual sports event as it gives all the members a chance to play their favourite game. Every year we see more and more members participating in this tournament and honestly this year, I foresee a large number of members coming forward to enjoy this joyful day. The event has been well planned and I am looking forward for some good innings from the teams.”
It has been officially announced that Friday November 27 will be an exclusive children’s cricket day. A complete day for the MCCP children upto Std VII will commence at 2.30 pm. Prize distribution will be at 8.00 pm. The venue will be Muscat Sports Club, Al Wadi Al Kabir.
Children wishing to participate and attend this event have to register themselves with either Lydia Sanctis on GSM 99718701 or Prescilla Machado on GSM 99459451 or Marriete Fernandes on GSM 99024712 on or before Monday November 23.
