Mumbai, Nov 3: Konkani Catholic Welfare Association, Bhayandar the
parish Konkani organisation of Our Lady of Nazareth Church, Bhayandar (West) had organised a felicitation for the first-time MLA Gilbert John Mendonca at the church premises on Sunday November 1. Gilbert is the only Christian MLA who won in the recent legislative assembly elections.



The president of the organisation George A Sequeira honoured the MLA with the shawl. The treasurer John Crasta felicitated with the flower bouquet. Later he was also honoured by all the parish organisatons.

Accepting the honour from the Konkani organization, Gilbert promised to work for the Konkani people of Mira Bhayandar constituency. He also promised to work for the East India community. Noted singer Ivan Sequeira was also present during the occasion.

    Its my pleasure to have known Mr Mendonca since my young age as I resided in the same neighbourhood as the favoutite MLA.Since I was born in the same locality it is but natural that I have known him personally & have even played cricket with him & also with another personality Mr Morris Rodricks who have been great friends since young age.He was our guest of honour for almost all our family functions & inaugurations .His younger brother Mr Steven Mendonca also is a great personality & both are always ready to help anyone in need.Wishing Mr Mendonca all the best in all his future ventures.

    Shree Gilbert seth the NCP leader of Mumbai is a very sharp politician who has a wide foresight. We wish that in future he will be the Chief Minister of the state.     There is no difference in between East Indian and Konkany community except thier language. Unite and work side by side. Good Work by Bhayander Konkan Association. Congratulations Dear MLA Gilbert Mendonca.
