‘Tulabara’ of Lord Vittal Held at Sion Gokula Complex

: “The ‘Tulabhara’ is indeed a great respect accorded to God and a Swami serves as an instrument in reaching the Divine.  The construction of a majestic Gokula Complex at Sion (East), here, when completed, will serve all the people of the metro, and this should inspire many to tread the devotional path”, said Sri Vishweshateerta Swami of Pejavar Math.
 
He was gracing the Tulabhara, the weighing of the idol of Lord Vittal against an equal quantity of silver, held at Geetha Govinda Auditorium, Sion (East), here on Sunday November 1. 



It was held on the sidelines of the reconstruction of Sri Krishna Mandir including the sanctum of Sri Gopalakrishna in the proposed Gokula Complex here.  This will be built jointly by metro-based South Kanara Brahmeens’ Association (SKBA) and Gopalakrishna Public Trust.
 
Retired judge B N Srikrishna was the chief guest on the occasion.
 
MLA Yeknath Gaikwad, Mumbai Congress Committee president Kripashankar Singh, famous drummer Anand Shivamani, Billavar Association president Jaya C Suvarna, Bunts Sangh president Aikala Harish Shetty, Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti founder Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, entrepreneur Dharmapal U Devadiga, Manish Shah, Samir Sanghvi, and Billava Association suburban Mulund sub-committee president Suresh Kumar were present on the dais.
 
Gokula temple chief priest Hari Bhat performed various Vedic rituals ahead of the Tulabhara programme and a grand procession that followed. 
 


‘Gokulavani’ monthly bulletin honorary editor Vyasaraya Ninjoor, Malati Kripashankar, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Nityanand D Kotian, Jyothi Suvarna, donors A K Hebbar, Justice Hosabettu Suresh, Ratna Acharya, S K Urval, Madhav Acharya, B B Rao, S K C Rao, P C N Rao and Bhaskar Rao, Pejavar Math Mumbai branch administrator Ramdas Upadyaya, Hari Bhat, and K Niranjan were present on the occasion.
 
Ananthapadmanabha K Poti proposed the vote of thanks.  Padmanabha Sasihitlu compered the programme. 
 
A devotional music programme by Vidhya Bhushan of Sangeet Kalanidhi was also held after the stage programme.
