Muscat: Painting Competition and Talent Show at ISC

Muscat, Oct 30: The Karnataka Wing of ISC held Painting Competition and Talent Show at ISC Multipurpose Hall on Friday 9th October 2009 – offering opportunity to the members to exhibit their panache.

The Bank Muscat sponsored event - Painting Competition attracted as many as 74 contestants in four different age groups from 3 years to the teenage. Except for the first group for Kindergarten, the participants from the remaining three groups had to exhibit their skills on a given topic. Paintings on wide ranging subjects such as “A scene from my home town”, “Save for a bright future”, “Protect the environment” captured their imagination and received rich appreciation from the visitors. All the works of art were evaluated by an independent adjudicator Mr. Nagendra J. Acharya – Art Teacher from Indian School Muscat. The winners are Anagha (I), Suraj (II), & Amulya (III) in Category 1, Harshit (I), Disha (II), Archit & Kushal (III) in Category, Sneha (I), Sanjana (II), & Chandan (III), in Category 3 and Aishwarya (I), Anusha (II), & Priya (III) in Category 4. Paintings from all the participants were portrayed in an exhibition in the evening. In addition to these exhibits, some members also put on display their canvases. The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Kannada Cine Actress Aishwarya Nag, who incidentally is from Muscat. She has already to her credit some successful movies such as “Neene Neene” and “Jolly Days“.





































Nagendra J. Acharya – Art Teacher from Indian School Muscat and Leela Subbakrishna, the wife of Late Mr. Subbakrishna, a famous painter from Mysore, distributed the prizes during the evening Talent Show function.

Al Nargis Trading & Furnishings sponsored programme – Talent Show in the evening was for the member community to display their flair in music, mono-acting, dance, etc. There were 25 entries in all and the show was graced by cine actress Ms. Aishwarya Nag who stayed all thorough the programme and encouraged all the participants. Scintillating dance performances, some wonderful music and brilliant acting displays were highlights of the show which was well attended.

The coordinators were - Yogananda & Shankar for the Painting Competition and Vani Bhagavat & Prakash Naik for the Talent Show. The program concluded with vote of thanks from Convener - Yogananda thanking all the Sponsors and each and every one who has contributed to the success of the events.

ISC-Karnataka Wing strongly believes in and encourages total development of the community especially in social, cultural, educational and sports fields and has many programmes scheduled in the coming months in the field of dance, music, sports and other extracurricular activities.
