Bahrain: Success Smiles on Ramee Cricketers

Bahrain, Oct 28: In the Manama Premier League Tennis Ball Tournament held at the Hid stadium here, Ramee Cricketers succeeded in humbling the strong, ‘Jai Maharashtra’ team in the finals and annexing the trophy.

A total of 12 strong teams had taken part in this 16-over a side tournament, divided into two groups. The preliminary matches were held on league basis, and Ramee Cricketers booked the semi final berth, by winning four consecutive games. In the semi finals, it easily put out the challenged posed by M Eleven team. In the finals, it had to fight against a strong ‘Jai Maharashtra’ team.




The ‘Jai Maharashtra’ team chose to bat first after winning the toss. Reeling under a strong bowling attack and tight fielding of Ramee Crickets, the team could muster only 108 runs in the allotted 16 overs. In reply, openers of Ramee Crickets, Prashant and Srinat, amassed 48 runs in the first five overs, but Prashant lost his wicket at this juncture.Suraj, who joined Srinath thereafter, displayed some superb shots. Even though the team suffered a minor jolt when it lost Srinath when on 65, Jafan Jose, who joined Suraj, played an aggressive innings and ensured victory for his team.

Ramee Cricketers registered the victory by getting 109 runs in 12 overs for the loss of two wickets. Chandra of Ramee Cricketers was adjudged the man of the series, while Jafan Jose of this team bagged the ‘man of the math’ award.
