Dubai, Oct. 24: ‘Udentichim Neketram’ The Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association, a blend of talents once again proved its landmark ability in flocking together the Sports Brilliants of its 13 Parishes by conducting a Jossy Cardoza Memorial Cricket Tournament which was held on Friday, October 23 2009 at Madina Cricket Academy Ground, Sharjah, U.A.E.

The Tournament commenced with a prayer followed by the inauguration of the match at 9.15 hrs. As announced, the Tournament was exclusively for the Moodbidri Varado Parishes and there were 8 Teams representing Taccode, Hospet, Paladka, Siddakatte, Moodbidri, Sampige, Gantalkatte and Shirtady. Some of the players from Anegudde, Belvai, Alangar & Vamadapadavu included their names in the above teams where the number of players are less.





























Tournament was formally inaugurated by the Association President Lawrence D’souza Moodbidri and the Sports Secretary Rudolf Sanctis Sampige. Tournament was concluded with a vote of thanks by Elias D’souza at 17.00 hrs.

Prizes of Honors were distributed by Lawrence D’Souza Moodbidri, Rudolf Sanctis Sampige, Prakash Cardoza Taccode, Wilfred Fernandes Vamadapadavu, Elias Lobo Hospet, Arun Dcosta Hospet, Paul Dsouza Paladka, Rajesh Alvares Hospet.

The Shields for both rolling trophies have been given out to the winners & the runners, the details are as under:

Prizes for the Winners

Udentichim Neketram Jossy Cardoza Memorial Rolling Trophy – Winners Trophy - Taccode Team – Capt. Maxim D’souza.
Rudolf Sanctis & Family Sponsored Rolling Trophy – Runners Up Trophy - Paladka Team – Capt. Deepak D’silva.
Man of the match – Sunil Dsouza, Taccode
Man of the series – Ravi Pereira Taccode
Best bowler – Deepak D’silva
Highest Sixes in the Tournament – Ravi Pereira, Taccode
Best Batsman – Nevil Aranha, Gantalkatte
Mohideen and Joel did the officiating of the match. Commentary in English, Hindi, Konkani and Tulu languages were done by Vincay Pinto Paladka, Praveen Sequiera Siddakatte, Joshwe Alangar, The scoring was done by Paul Dsouza Paladka

The event was conducted and disciplined by the joint effort of Rajesh Alvares, Arun Dcosta, Paul Dsouza and Rudolf Sanctis.
