Olympian Footballer Keshto Pal Dies

Kolkata, Oct 15: Olympian footballer Kehsto Paul died after a brief illness here Wednesday. He was 78.

Paul, a centre forward par excellence, was a part of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics squad that finished fourth, which is India's best finish in Olympic football.

Paul started his footballing career with Bhowanipore Club before joining Mohun Bagan. He was also a top scorer in the Kolkata league and was known for his heading abilities.

All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel said that it was a huge loss to Indian Football.
