Doha: MCC's Mangalorean Day on Oct 9

Media Release

Doha, Oct 4: With the intention of providing the Mangalorean Community in Qatar with a platform to showcase their talents and to enjoy each other’s company, as one FAMILY, Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar is proud to present the 2nd 'Mangalorean Day' - an evening of games, food, loads of entertainment and lots and lots of FUN, on 9th October 2009, from 3 p.m. onwards, at the Ideal School Grounds, Doha.

The evening will begin with fun games for all ages, followed by a cultural program by the local talents with children and adults dancing and singing to your hearts' content. The super hit comedy drama of yester years  'Dhon Ghadiyo Hasson Kadiyam', written by Ramanand Surya, will be presented by our own Eddie Sequier and his troupe.

A special attraction of the day will be the 'Healthy Baby' and the 'Little Prince and Princess' contests for age groups 2-4 yrs and   4+ to 6 yrs respectively.

While one's eyes, ears, hearts and minds are being entertained by drama,  music and dance, a grand variety of home cooked Mangalorean delicacies will be available to satisfy one’s literal hunger.

As is the tradition at MCC, the community’s Academic Achievers will be honoured during the evening. Mr. K. M Varghese, President of the Indian Cultural Centre, Qatar,  will be the Chief Guest.

Like in the previous year, the entire proceeds of the evening will be used in service of the needy.

More details on the day’s happenings can be obtained by logging on to MCC’s website www.mccqatar.org  or by contacting Alwyn D’Souza -5612459, Reena Castelino – 5602457 or Riana Pinto -5915002.

Happy to know that MCC is organizing 2nd mangalorean day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to all of us mangaloreans not only to just show our talents but also to work as one family, sharing equally the responsibilities, with a good team spirit. The committee members are doing a great job by taking initiatives sacrificing their personal time for no fame or name.I request all the mangaloreans to actively participate & encourage them and support them by contributing in whatever way we can and let us make this family day a memorable one.

Its indeed a pleasure to be a part of this community here in qatar. It's full of opportunities to the budding talents as well as the old talent. It is a proud feeling when people from other communities appreciate the efforts put by MCC in bringing out the talent. Wish MCC a great success.
