Dubai, Sep 18: “Udyavarites” The parishioners, well wishers and guests of the restive coastal town Udyavar, living in the UAE had a family union evening to celebrate “Monthi Feast” at the Spice Island Restaurant, Al Bassam Centre – Sharjah-UAE. The evening came alive for over 225 Udyavarites and friends who witnessed a variety of activites put together to entertain children and elders alike.
Robert Fernandes a well known “Kavi” in his own right known as Robert Udyavar and an able master of ceremonies conducted the evening in co-ordination with two budding companions Shalini Qadros and Carona D`souza keeping everyone entertained and cheerful.
There was prayers, showering of flowers by little children - honouring of our lady and blessing of the “Novem” by visiting priest Fr. Sunil D`silva also a Udyavarite from Narampady parish – Kasaragod. Everyone consumed the Blessed corn in milk while thanking and praying for the crops and for foods to sustain the health of all present and of people back in Udyavar and everywhere.
President Vivian D`silva one of the founder members listed how the Organization has grown from the little beginning 9years ago focusing on activities that give meaning to its members to be united as a family working to be one and united. To further this cause he pointed out the efforts of Robert Fernandes who has actively constituted http://www.udyavarites.blogspot.com/ message service and information centre to inform UDAVARITES, families, fiends and guests latest on the organization and much more to educate, promote fraternity and to help keep in touch and updated on issues close to all.
Skits organized and presented by excellent stage actors Gilbert, Joachim, Robert and Veena left the audience asking for more. Skits galore and games aplenty for children, bachelors and elders alike with lots of spot prizes to be won every one seemed to be winning some gift on a festive evening. All the children were given gifts and sweets their hands full for showering flowers and being at sport the whole evening.
The often talked about mouth watering delicacy pooled together by many members and friends left the guests licking fingers for more “Masle Kodi” and “Vorn” traditional items with “Novem Jevaan” at Udyavar.
