Cold wave grips Bihar, affects normal life


Patna, Dec 26 (IANS): Normal life in Bihar was badly affected after severe cold wave conditions gripped the state with temperature plummeting in almost all the districts.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Patna registered a minimum temperature of 10.6 degrees Celsius while the maximum hovered around 17 degrees Celsius.

The wind factor has aggravated the cold wave conditions.

The MET department said severe cold wave condition is likely to prevail in the coming days. The mercury in Patna and Gaya may dip further.

Dense Fog was witnessed in Patna and Gaya early morning on Thursday.

The weather department has predicted further dip in minimum and maximum temperatures in the next two-three days.

Patna District Magistrate has gave orders for bonfires at several places in the city.

The cold wave, having gripped large stretches of the state, is expected to continue for the next few days.
