Udupi, Sep 15: Puttige Mutt Sri Sugunendrateertha Swamiji, disciple of the late Vibhudeshateertha Swamij and current head of Admat Mutt, Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji, Kaniyoor Mutt Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji, Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt as well as Raghumanyateertha Swamiji and Raghuvarendrateertha Swamiji of Bheemanakatte Mutt came together to pay their last respects to Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji of Admar Mutt, whose soul got liberated from his body early morning today.

The body of the Swamiji was given a holy bath at the Madhwa Sarovar tank of Srikrishna Mutt here, before taking the same in a procession through the car street here. Thousands of devotees thronged to have the last darshan of the Swamiji. The mortal remains were then taken to the base Admar Mutt near Padubidri, where final rites will take place.

Udupi: Admar Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji Leaves for Heavenly Abode

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Sep 15: Senior Swamiji of Admar Mutt here, Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji, who functioned as the correspondent of 26 educational institutions functioning under Admar Education Trust, left for heavenly abode at about 5.55 am on Tuesday September 15 at the Admar Mutt choultry here, after a brief illness.  The Swamiji, whose eightieth birth day was recently celebrated at Poornaprajna Auditorium here on August 26, was known for his path-breaking ideas, strong belief in science and imparting education.

It may be recalled, that the Swamiji had stepped down and allowed his junior, Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji, to take over the Paryaya several years ago, after controversy arose about Swami Vibhudeshateertha’s right to take over the Paryaya rights, as he had crossed the seas while visiting overseas devotees earlier. The Swamiji had taken ill of late, and was moving about in his wheel chair. In him, the lineage of Swamijis of the district has lost a scholarly visionary. It may be recalled, that when controversy had again been raked up on the occasion of the ascension of the present Paryaya Swamiji Sri Sugunendrateertha of Puttige Mutt to Sarvajna Peetha last year, Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji had strongly advocated that the Puttige Swamiji should be allowed to take over Paryaya, even though he had crossed the seas, which has been banned as per the Mutt traditions.

His body will be taken to the base Admar Mutt near Padubidri later in the day. It may be noted that Sugunendrateertha Swamiji had ascended Paryaya Sarvajna Peeta at 5.55 am on January 18 last.

The management of the educational institutions for whom the late Swamiji acted as a guide and mentor, will now have to find an able successor, who is equally dedicated, far-sighted and driven by vision to educate the masses.

He was a GReat Soul, Truly. he has started so many educational institutions not only in karnataka but in mumbai and delhi too. He was Feraless Soul who was steadfast and believed in His ideals. He showed tremendous Love towards us students.

I still remember the Bhagvad Gita lessons that He gave us every afternoon in school. He will really have a lasting impression on all of us as what we are today and what we will go on to be will all be thanks to his blessings. May God bless His Soul with Eternal Peace............(old student of Poorna Prajna High School, Sadashivanagar, Class of 2008. This was the first school that His Holiness started in Bangalore and it is now one of the best).

Though unfortunately I had no chance of knowing the Swamiji, from what I gather from going through the Media about the him, I come to realise that he was a Very Good Human Being who cared for, moulded, inspired and loved hundreds of people...Truly losing a person of that stature is really painful. May his soul rest in peace.

Really it is a sad news for the coastal people. I remeber that he use to visit our classrooms & guided all the students to seek a better future. Also he use to discuss with the college management about the studies of the student. Now a days it is very difficult find these kinds of swamijies in coastal karnataka. He was given importance for the education & he wants all the people should be educated. There are so many students hindus, chritians, muslims, dalits studied in his institutes & serving the society. Other religeous scholor should follow sri vibudesha theertha swamiji, intead of spreading hatredness, involving in the politics and dividing the society in the name of relegion.

The tributes in this page is the reflection of his highness divine personality. In this day and age religion is used for terrorism, conversion and personal gains. What all religious leaders need to learn from his holiness is instead of driving the youngsters towards terrorism, conversion etc, they should drive the youth of the world in the right direction of science, education, culture which will benefit the society.Knowledge is the way to mukthi or liberation

May the soul of Swamiji Rest in Peace. Being a Student of PPC Udupi, its my right to express our respect and gratitude to the great Human being and a visionary, who founded some great institution , by which he will be always remembered, I thank HH Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji for giving us a life time experience of meeting a revolutionary who not only contributed to Freedom movement( many would not know this fact) but also revolutionised the education and quality of education among masses. So, it’s the body which has reached Haripada, but his work will still continue to inspire and lead so many young students to create history. The Spirit is neither born nor does it die at any time. It does not come into being, or cease to exist. It is unborn, eternal, permanent, and primeval. The Spirit is not destroyed when the body is destroyed. (2.20) Bhagavad-Gita
