Mangalore, Sep 13: A person was found murdered in his rented flat at Shyam Complex, Capitanio on Sunday September 13.

The murdered person has been identified as Abdul Kareem (33), basically from Panambur in the city outskirts and resident of a rented apartment here. He had engaged himself in a small business in city after recently ending his partnership business of running a shop selling mobile phones following a dispute with his partner.

The body was found below the cot in his bed room and the signs on his body indicate that he was hit by a hard object akin to rod on the nape of the neck.

His domestic help said that he slept alone in his bed room, while his wife, two children and the domestic help slept in another room, which at the time of incident was locked from outside. We came to know of the incident only when one of our neighbours helped us come out of the room, she said.

The neighbour said Kareem was involved in a financial dealing with another person staying in a residence right opposite Kareem's apartment. The resident of the house is not to be seen since several days, he said and also informed that Kareem was receiving threat calls on his mobile phone for sometime now.

A woman, a resident of the nearest flat said that the incident might have occurred between 1 am to 4 am in the wee hours of the morning.

Police visited the spot. Finger print experts and canine squad too were pressed into service. Accidents,Murder and Dakoity happens all over the world, all over the country, hence Mangalore is not exceptional. The problem with us is seeing everything through communal lence will agreivate the incident/accident in to arson. That is our misfortune.
