Mangalore: Cultural Variety Entertains Devotees at Kadri Mosaru Kudike Celebrations

Mangalore, Sep 12: The 40th mosaru kudike on Saturday September 12 as part of Krishna Ashtami celebrations of Kadri was a conglomeration of traditional and cultural celebrations as well as entertainment extravaganza.

Kadri Manjunatheshwara temple premises was home for traditional and cultural programmes with Bharatanatyam by disciple of Nritya Vidya Nilaya, Kadri, Vinutha , a special variety entertainment programme by Navarasa, Mangalore and Yakshagana, Veera Vaishnava by Havyasi Balaga, Kadri. 
The stage programme that initiated the evening's cultural and traditional celebration was presided by Kadri temple managing trustee A J Shetty, K C Naik, managing trustee, Gopalakrishna temple, Shaktinagar was felicitated on the occasion. Inspector general of police (western range) Gopal Hosur, Karnataka Bank managing director P Jayaram Bhat and Corporation Bank general manager Mohan Rao among others were present.

The high point of traditional celebration at Kadri temple was a special offering to the lord by the 40-member-team from Guruvayoor who presented a traditional and ancient art form of Kerala used to worship god called Dashavatara. Five out of ten incarnations including Mahakali, Narasimha, Veerabhadra, Mahishamardini among others were donned by these artistes, the style which reminded of spirit worship prevalent in undivided Dakshina Kannada district.

Navaras, a unique dance group was launched on the occasion. The group intends to provide opportunity for amateurs to quench their thirst for dancing.

According to the director of Navaras, Sachitha Nandagopal, this is a concept that has evolved to enable to provide a platform to perform for anyone interested in semi classical and folk dance. ``We wish to bring people together through dance. We believe dancing for passion and dance as best medium of stress buster”.

The two-hour cultural extravaganza comprised an array of classical, semi-classical and folk dances of different states of India coupled with some humour and stills portraying our rich cultural treasure.
As part of Sri Krishna Leelotsav, the 40th year of mosaru kudike like every year, the traditional procession began from Kadri temple and reached Gopalkrishna Temple at Kadri Kambala from where after traditional rituals, the procession passed through Kambala, Kadri Ground and Kadri Mallikatte to culminate again at Kadri Temple. The pots hung on the height of over 15 feet poles all decorated and ready to be broken by the Gopalas, the youth. 








































Entertainment-packed Star Nights

Star Nights, entertainment programme with an assortment of dance and music at Kadri Ground organized by Kadri Cricketers was a thoroughly entertaining with Golden Star Ganesh making his presence felt.
The joy of Mangaloreans knew no bound when they had an opportunity to see him live and also spend sometime with him. Ganesh too was overwhelmed by the love of the audiences and felicitation accorded by Prakash Shetty of Gold Finch, Sadanand Shetty of Sreedevi Education Trust and Devanna Shetty of Dix Company among others on behalf of the Kadri Cricketers.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh attributed his success to the audiences and also remembered his sweet association with Mangalore stating that it was here his career as a hero began and also that his wife Shilpa hailed from the place. He also entertained his fans over 10,000 by delivering the famous dialogues of his movie Mungaru Male and also singing a few lines of the very famous number, Anisutide from the same movie. 

Apart from star attraction, Ganesh the singers Ester Noronha from Mangalore and now settled in Mumbai rocked the stage and won the hearts of all, especially youth with her energetic performance along with singing. The audiences just drooled to her numbers such as Hai Junoon from New York and Shakira's famous number, Hips Don't Lie. Avinash Chebbey, the famous singer famed for performing at A R Rehman shows enthralled the audience with his powerful energetic voice. His rendition of theme song of KPL gave a perfect start to the entertainment section presented by stars.

Local dance groups such as Boy Zone and Ocean Kids also gave some entertaining and amazing performances.
