Kuwait, Sep 12: The Mother Mary’s Naitivity (Monti Fest) was celebrated by the United Mangaloreans Kuwait (UMK), on Friday 11th September 2009, at a Salmiya Residence.

The event was well attended by the members and the guests.

The programme started by the prayer to Mother Mary, led by Mr. Lionel Mescarenhas, Agnel Saldanha (Gurkar, UMK), welcomed the gathering. 

Games conducted by Nirmala Machado, Joel Pinto and Kevin D’Souza.  Prizes were given away to the winners.

Agnel Saldanha, took the opportunity to thank some of the members and their families, by honouring with a rose,  for their continuous, selfless, dedicated service and support to the UMK.

Traditional “shiroti” (banala leaf) jevan served to the guests.  Mouthwatering delicacies were prepared and sponsored by some of the UMK wel-wishers.  ‘Patrode’ and ‘vorn’  loved by all.

The guests felt the entire mood as  typical Mangalorean and was of the feeling of a single untited family.

Kevin D’souza, Miyar, gave the vote of thanks and implored the blessing of Mother Mary for the success UMK’s upcoming  fun filled entertainment event on 6th Nov. 2009.
