Bangalore: Monti Fest Celebrations at St Anthony's Friary, Hosur Road

Bangalore, Sep 12: The people enthusiastically took part in the Monti Fest celebrations held at St Anthony’s Friary, Hosur Road here, on Tuesday September 8.



This year’s celebrations were sponsored by the Augutine Ward of the sixth block, Koramangala in the city. Eliza and Melvin Pereira, Mridula and David Lewis, Dora and Sylvester D’Souza, Gladys and Naveena D’Souza, Crescilla and Maxim Lobo, Alice and Louis D’Souza, Nirmala Patrao, Nirmala Lobo and Lily Sachidanand are the active members of this group. The main celebrant for the mass was Fr Lawrence D’Souza, director of St John’s Medical College and Hospital.

The celebration included the customary showering of flowers by the children on the statue of Mother Mary, followed by the distribution of the blessed new grains and sweets. The Mangalorean Catholic meal was served on the occasion, to the priests and Student Friars of St Anthony’s Franciscan Home by the sponsors.
