Jharkhand, Dec 14: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday December 14 took a jibe at Congress saying that the opposition is suffering a 'stomach ache' after the ruling BJP passed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Accusing the opposition for stirring up violence over the amended Citizenship Act, Shah assured the people of the Northeast that they have nothing to fear.

Addressing election rallies at Giridih and Baghmara, where polls in the fourth phase will be held on December 16, Shah said, "I assure the people of Assam and other northeastern states that Narendra Modi government will protect your culture, social identity, language and political rights."

The BJP president spoke about his meeting with Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma, who spoke to him about problems in Meghalaya and some part of the Citizenship Act that needs to be changed. "I asked Sangma ji to come when he is free after Christmas. We can think constructively for a solution for Meghalaya. Nobody has anything to fear," Shah said.

Calling former Congress president Rahul Gandhi ‘ignorant,’ he said that with ‘Italian Sunglasses’ covering his eyes, he is making noise without even being aware of India’s history.

He further questioned Rahul Gandhi and Hemant Soren, “Why is Kashmir issue important during Jharkhand elections?" "You are ignorant that it is the youth of this state that are securing the borders of this country," Shah said.

“Congress encouraged Naxalism, handed Kashmir to terrorists and is dragging Ayodhya issue for years. While you blame BJP for being anti-Muslim, remember it’s the NDA that had brought the Triple Talaq Act,” Shah lashed out.

“People of Jharkhand got electricity, LPG cylinders and houses during the BJP-led government in the state. Even a district youth president of BJP can give an account of the developmental work done during five years of BJP-led rule in Jharkhand. What has Rahul Gandhi's Congress done during 55 years of its rule?” he questioned.
