Udupi, Nov 30: After the grand success of three Konkani movies, director Harry Fernandes’ fourth Konkani movie ‘Benddkar’ released at Bharath Cinemas theatre, Manipal, here on Friday, November 29.
The film is produced under the banner 'Harry Fernandes Films', co-produced by Dolphy Rebello in association with Prince Jacob Production and Stany Alvares Creations.
The chief guest of the occasion, Dr Vincent Alva, principal Milagres College Kallianpur said, 'Everyone has passion for something. Harry Fernandes has passion for films. He has already made four Konkani films. This shows his passion for Konkani films. Producing a Konkani film is not an easy task. I wish all the best for this new film 'Benddkar’ and the crew.”
Harry Fernandes said, “We have tried to touch the hearts of viewers with emotions and it recalls our childhood memories. This is my fourth movie. The shooting was held in and around historical place Barkur. There is an intimate connection with Barkur as we have done the shooting for our earlier movies also. I hope that Konkani lovers will support us as they do always.”
Kishore Gonsalves, director, Daijiworld media, Prem D'Souza, production manager, Alwyn Quadres, president, Catholic Sabha Udupi diocese, Ravi Prakash, director, Anjali Park Karje and vice president, Holy Family Church Brahmavar, Alwyn Andrade and Sujatha Andrade, well-known theatre artistes and others were present.
Prominent roles were played by Mangalurean, Goan and Mumbai artistes, including Varsha Usgaonkar, Prince Jacob, Dolla Nandigudda, John D’Silva, Kevin D’Mello, Naisa and others.
The film received good comments from the audience.
The story, screenplay and dialogues of the film are written by director Harry Fernandes (Barkur).
Music is by Patson Pereira, lyrics by Wilson Kateel, camera by Shafeeq Shaikh, edited by Abhishek Mhaskar, dance choreography by Nishanth Avil D’cruz, Pappu Khanna, Deepak Paladka, designed by Daryil Lobo, overseas distribution by Sandhya Creations’ Shodhan Prasad.
The film is being screened at INOX Manipal at 7 pm and Bharath Cinemas at 4 pm from November 29.
