West Bengal, Nov 7: After West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh claimed that cow milk contains gold, dairy farmers are reportedly lining up outside various finances hoping to secure gold loan.
One of West Bengal’s news channels carried a report on a dairy farmer standing outside a branch of Manappuram Finance Limited. “I have come here for a gold loan and hence I have brought my cows with me. I heard that there is gold in cow milk. My family depends on these cows. I have 20 cows and if I get the loan, I will be able to expand my business,” the man was quoted by the news channel.
Garalgacha gram panchayat pradhan Manoj Singh claims that many people approach him for suggestions on how much loan they can get against their cows.

Criticising Ghosh, Singh sarcastically remarks that Ghosh should be awarded a ‘Nobel’ for the issue he has created.
He further adds that such situation arise when a political leader deviates from development and speaks only on religion and Hindutva.
Ghosh had triggered a controversy with his statements at a programme in Burdwan district.
"A feature of the Indian (desi) cow is that its milk contains gold. That's the reason the colour of the milk is yellowish. Indian cows have humps, which the foreign cows don't have. The foreign cow has a straight back, like a buffalo. The hump has an artery, called 'swarnanari' (gold artery). When sunlight falls on it, gold is made,” Ghosh had said.
