Prakash Wins in Doubles But Somdev Loses

New York, Aug 13: Third seeds Prakash Amritraj of India and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan have entered the second round of the doubles at the Levene Gouldin & Thomas Tennis Challenger here at Binghamton, beating Americans Lester Cook and John Paul Gruttero, 6-3, 6-2.

However, Prakash's compatriot Somdev Devvarman was on the losing side Wednesday, partnering his Virginia University buddy Treaty Huey of the Philippines. They lost to South African Kevin Anderson and American Ryler De Heart 3-6, 2-6.

In the singles Tuesday, Prakash defeated De Heart in the first round 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-3 whereas eighth seed Somdev lost to Ukrainian Sergei Bubka 6-7 (3), 5-7.
