Karachi, Jul 13: Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq fears the internal rift in the national cricket team could be one of the reason behind their below-par performance in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka.

Inzamam also felt that skipper Younis Khan is making no efforts to bring the team together.

"I don't think that everything is fine within the Pakistan team," Inzamam was quoted as saying in the Jang Monday.

"It seems that the team is divided into groups and Younis is doing nothing about it," said Inzamam.

Pakistan went to Sri Lanka just days after winning the World Twenty20 championship in England. It lost the first Test in Galle even after taking a 50-run first innings lead and then made a disastrous start to the ongoing second Test in Colombo, bowled out for just 90 runs - their lowest score against Sri Lanka - on the first day Sunday.

Inzamam said that Pakistani players have crumbled under the pressure of expectations raised after their the World Twenty20 title win. He stressed that it was the responsibility of the team management to help the players overcome the crisis.

Inzamam also expressed his surprise over the decision to field rookie spinner Saeed Ajmal instead of the experienced Danish Kaneria.
