India Bag Five Golds, Take Tally to 10 in Asian Youth Games

New Delhi, Jul 4: Indian athletes kept up their fine performance as they won two more golds to take their tally to 10 medals at the Asian Youth Games in Singapore Friday.

On the last day of the track and field competition, Ravi Kumar won the gold in the 800 metres while Namita Kabat was the champion in the women's event.

According to information received here, Indian athletes have won four out of the five gold medals won so far. The fifth gold was won by its swimmer. India have also won three silver and two bronze and are currently in the fourth place.

Ravi took 1:55.91 seconds and was followed by Iran's Amir (1:55.93 secs) and Herath E (1:56.33 secs) of Srilanka Ravi in the second and third place respectively.

In the girls' category, Namita was way ahead of the pack and won in 2:15.55 secs while Vietnam's C.A. Thin Than (2:20.43secs) and Myint Swe Li (2:22.14s) of Myanmar.
