Mangaluru: Blockbuster Tulu film 'Girgit’ earns over Rs one crore in first week run

Mangaluru, Sep 3: Tulu film ‘Girgit’ has turned out to be an entertainer as well as a blockbuster. The film which released on August 23, has earned over Rs one crore in its first week run at theatres. It became the first film from Coastalwood to do earn such an amount in a very short period of time.

The film’s box office collection stood at Rs 1.24 crore worldwide after more than 700 shows.

‘Girgit’ is the first Tulu film to release simultaneously in Coastal Karnataka and Gulf countries. The film released at 14 theatres across UAE, Oman and Qatar.

‘Girgit’ is directed by Coastalwood and Sandalwood actor Roopesh Shetty and Rakesh. Roopesh Shetty and Shilpa Shetty are playing the lead in the film. Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Umesh Mijar and others are in the cast.

It has story and script by Roopesh Shetty and Keerthan Bhandary. Joel Rebello and Darrel Mascarenhas have provided music. Prasanna Shetty Bailur has provided dialogues. The film produced by Manjunath Attavar and co-produced by Deekshit Alva. Sound effects was handled by Roger Loren. It is produced under the banner R S Cinemas.

    Girgit was the first and last film to reach the 1 Crore mark, and became the highest-grossing film ever at the time,

    Girgit was the first movie which made all theaters clean their old dusted seats ,
    Jyothi Theatre Got its charm back after Mall cultures .
    Never seen any tuluwas standing in Q or craze for tulu movies .
    The Only movie wihich has got 99% Good Review
