President of India on Three-Day Visit to Metro

President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil arrived in the metro on a three-day visit on Saturday June 27. 

Governor S C Jamir received the President at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on her arrival. Soon after arriving, the President unveiled the plaque of the Maharashtra Judicial Academy and Indian Mediation and Training Centre at Uttan near here.



Also present on the occasion were Governor S C Jamir, Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan, chief minister Ashok Chavan, and High Court judge Justice Swatanter Kumar.
 
President Patil accompanied by Governor S C Jamir launched the golden jubilee celebrations of the creation of Maharashtra State at Jamshed Bhabha Theater, NCPA, Nariman Point, here at 6.00 pm on Sunday June 28.
 
President Patil will unveil an enthroned statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Vidhan Bhavan here at 11.00 am on Monday June 29.  The Governor will release a commemorative volume on Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj on the same occasion.
