Joseph/BC Road, This person is not innocent. He is a thief and must be punished. However, police should go into the larger picture as we have reports of theft from many temples. Its not an isolated incident. I feel that it could be an organised crime and people behind must be caught and punished. Adike kaddaroo kalla, aane kaddaroo kalla. Nobody is above the law.

If Mr Abdul Rahiman, the man caught here was innocent, definetly he would not have run, & would just allow police for check up. More than any thing these sort of idol or jewellery theiving from religious place should be severely delt with. These sort of theiving will spoil the social atmosphere & create unwanted clashes. So first & the best is to severly punish these type of theives within law.

I would draw attention of Mr.Shahnawaz, that what was the need for them to run & make police chase them. That itself proves the fact they where involved in the theft some or other way. Why had other people escaped also raises question of insocence of the person caught here.

Mr Sahnawaz Kukkikatte, if a person is found with a fake note he will be interrogated for the details, & so is the case here. Simply we cannot give the way out that he might have not stolen, & morever he was caught in action while transporting perhaps.

Morever in most of temple/mandir idol stolen cases in past points finger towards a particular minority community, on the basis of convicted thieves caught. Naturally, accusations may arise in these occasation. Let us hope for early legal proceedings to get the detailed part of it.

It''s unfortunate that people turn this story into another religion-bashing opportunity. However, I should admit one thing - some of the viewers are very critical of hindus and hindu organizations, associating every incident to those organizations. The same individuals try to dodge the question when a minority is involved in any incident saying - "criminals and terrorists have no religion".

You should be fair and balanced. Right? Otherwise, it will be like Pakistan govt calling mumbai attackers "stateless actors"!! Let''s respect each other and live peacefully. Sarcasm only makes things worse.

MR.shane, what Mr. raj said is right if you go through many comments given in daiji by MR. shahanawaz & some others..they were involving bjp & govt for each n everything.  As you said Crime happens at any place or in any community, but the hell is our people not ready to accept it always they want one reason to blame govt.

Raj/Mangalore, I always note in your comments you smell rat against minority community. If he is a criminal, he must be punished. But the larger picture yet to emerge. He is only a seller, but persons behind this need to be traced.

Criminals and terrorists have no religion. If any one afraid of God, will not do such acts. Crime is a crime and must be dealt with in accordance with the gravity of the crime committed. Of all the crime against humanity is most severe one and must meet hardest punishment.
