Karnataka to Get Four Passport Facilitation Centres Including Mangalore

Bangalore, June 12 (IANS) : The external affairs ministry has decided to set up four passport facilitation centres in Karnataka to help people apply for and secure passports with ease, the state government said Thursday.

"The ministry has decided to locate two facilitation centres in Bangalore and one each at Hubli in central Karnataka and Mangalore in coastal Karnataka. A mini facilitation centre will also be set up at Gulbarga in north Karnataka," an official statement said.

Thanking External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna for the decision, state Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said the facilitation centres should be upgraded into full-fledged passport offices to help people avail all services at one place.

Krishna, who hails from Karnataka, was the state's chief minister 1999-2004.

The PP Office in Mangalore was initiated by Ex-CM S.M. KRISHNA (during his congress rule 1999-2004). That time BJP Government was ruling at Centre (1999-2004). BJP too showed step-motherly treatment when Karnataka was under Congress rule. Some commentators are BOASTING here the credit only goes to present BJP.

The credit should go both mainly to S.M. KRISHNA (Foreign Minister) for sanctioning PP Office & YEDDYURAPPA for his efforts. Karnataka was economically No.1 during SM KRISNHA''s Time. Now, Investors are thinking 100 times to invest in Karnataka under BJP rule.

Before many years small amount of mangaloreans were leaving the home country .but now the number is incressed in the past 5 to 10 years because of the increase in the abroad jobs and for the purpose of study. There is nothing new that bjp did this job.If any other party is ruling the karnataka also definitely they will do it because people will definitely pressurise the existing governament in the state or central in order to avoid their move to bangalore when mangalore is fully having the capacity to have a passport center.Hope for your look it is the bjp achievement. If bjp did this job ,I will salute the bjp and look forward other developments and strict law preserving the rights of citizens of the state .

Dear shetty Anna first of all we need to appreciate the move of the state governament and the concerned to start the passport office in our mangalore .As we all know that mangalore is more developed than udupi and brahmavar ,as well as the airport is also near by to mangalore city ,I don''t think people of the districts will suffer a lot comparing to the earlier situation of visiting bangalore for the passport related work.

Coastal karnataka is a longstretch &mangalore is in southern end almost touching kerala.ideally newpassport office should have been located in udupi or even brahmavar a central place would have benefited maximum to coastal karnataka peoplefrom karwar to mangalore. similarly mangalore bangalore rail is not beneficial to maximum people of karnataka unless it operates from karwar or goa to bangalore.all facilities should be looked at benefit to maximum people, minimum traveling time to beneficiaries

Heartly thanks to Mr. Krishna and Mr. Yeddyurappa for this good work. If anything goes wrong in state now you people will blame BJP and give credit to Congress, then if any good change has occured in state you give the whole credit to congress. isn''t it rediculous? When congress was ruling in central and in state with Mr. Krishna as chief Minister why did''nt he bring this into account? Congress is nothing but playing a shatharunj to divert people''s support towards congress in mangalore to achieve MP and MLA seats in next election. For your kind information my dear commentators mangaloreans have been totally locked by BJP and its impossible to unlock it by congress in future. There was a good chance for congress in this election by making a big issue regarding pub attack as well as church attack, but even it didn''t work out for congress.

Manohar Frank, Mangalore, Sunday, March 01, 2009 Maxim - Nagesh doesnt need to ask his friends! People of Karnataka and Gujarat decided the fate of Krishna and Modi. Just focusing on bangalore and meeting NRN doesnt make a good CM.. Like Modi one has to have a complete pic of state development and showcasing !.. That''s Tata, Ambani, Mittal wanted him as a PM!... Not Krishna - dont know where he''ll be - out of karnataka and afraid of face elections : Mr. Monohar Frank, Mangalore and Arun CK, Mangalore-Dubai, Please check your comments then find out how many MP are won by Congress at Gujarat this time. Hope you both understood what I said about Mr. S. K. Krishna.
