Metro Gets Mogaveer Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI)

The Mogaveer Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), an exclusive association of entrepreneurs and businessmen from the Mogaveer community settled in the metro, was inaugurated recently. 

This is an attempt to set a common platform for all entrepreneurs and businessmen of the community hailing from undivided Dakshina Kannada district. 
 
Mogaveer veteran r G Shankar performed the inauguration at a function held at Indian Chamber of Commerce (IMC) auditorium, Church Gate.
 


Speaking on the occasion, Shankar said that the Mogaveer community certainly has proven leadership qualities.

He stressed that if the Mogaveer leaders work unitedly, nothing can come in the way of the prosperity of the entire community.
 
Coastal entrepreneur and Congress leader Pramod Madwaraj was the guest of honour. He said, “It’s a good beginning for MCCI.  The convening of village council meetings dates back two centuries. The Mogaveer community realizing the importance of education worked for the setting up of Fisheries College in the coastal district. MCCI will provide all entrepreneurial information for those from the community who need it”.
 
Chartered accountant Lokesh Putran from Dubai said that the MCCI would promote entrepreneurship among community brethren and help them become successful businessmen, traders, and professionals.  Besides, he assured support to his brethren wishing to come to Dubai to set up their trade and business ventures. 
 
Mogaveer executive committee president Ajit Suvarna, Mogaveer Banking president Kirtiraj Salian, youth club president Sadanand Kotian, Mumbai hoteliers Suresh Kanchan and Gopal Puthran, entrepreneur Vedaprakash Sriyan, lawyer G K Karkera, Yatish Baikampady, and others conveyed best wishes.
 
Dr Vaman Sapaliga and Dr Poornima Shah were felicitated on the occasion.
 
MCCI president lawyer Sanjeev Kanchan welcomed the gathering and delivered the keynote address.
 
Chief secretary Vikas Putran offered information on MCCI.  Supriya Sriyan delivered a talk on leadership qualities.  Shankar Sriyan, Jotsna Putran, and Vikas Putran, introduced the dignitaries.  Indu Salian compered the programme.
