Bangalore: Charles Gomes Re-elected Chairman of FKCA

Bangalore, Jun 8: Charles Gomes has been unanimously elected as the chairman of the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations of Karnataka (FKCA) during its AGM which was held at Konkan Bhavan here on Sunday June 7.  Naveen D’Souza and Judith D'Cunha were elected as general secretary and treasurer respectively

The office-bearers are as follows:

Chairman - Charles Gomes
Gen Secretary - Naveen D’Souza
Vice-chairman-1 - Mrs Albina Vaz
Vice-chairman-2 - Lullus Cutinha
Treasurer -   Judith D'Cunha
Joint Secretary-1 - Matilda Mathias
Joint Secretary-2 - John Sequeira
Legal Advisor - Jerome D’Souza 
Cultural Secretary - Lionel D’Souza
Media Manager - Jerome D'Silva
Spiritual Director - Rev Fr Henry Saldanha

Fr Henry Saldanha presided the elections. Presidents, office-bearers and the executive committee members of all associations were present for the AGM Gabriel Vaz, former political editor of The Economic Times and was also present
                
Federation is in its 12th year of existence. Twenty Konkani associations have already been affiliated to the Federation and many more are in the process of affiliating to the Federation. The main aim of the Federation is to unite all the Konkani Catholics, bring political awareness and fight for social justice. Last year, FKCA had got the FKCA officially registered and also got the associations from USA, UK, UAE and Qatar to affiliate with FKCA. Kanara Entrepreneurs meet was also held wherein the entrepreneurs from Kanara region got together for the meet. Federation had launched its own website to bring all the Konkani Catholics together (www.fkca.net).  Federation is now aiming to bring together all the Konkani Catholic Associations situated outside India as its associate members This is likely to give a new dimension to the already launched Kanara Entrepreneurs, placement and matrimonial services along with other possible mutual cooperation.
