UAE: Kannada Sangha Buraimi Celebrates Sixth Annual Day

Kannada Sangha, Buraimi celebrated its sixth annual day at Hilton hotel with a host of cultural programmes recently. 
 
The annual day was celebrated on an auspicious day with the coming together of the Sangha members and invitees here, in a mirthful atmosphere. The guests conferred the `NRI Samman’ award to winner J R Gangaramani, chairman, Al-Farah group of companies.
 
After receiving the honour, Gangaramani thanked the Sangha for selecting him for the honour, which stands for excellence achieved by the non resident Indians here. He also honoured the guests.

Muhammad Ibrahim, managing partner, Darvish Company, Sudhir Shetty and Sarvoththam Shetty from Abhu-Dhabhi Kannada Sangha and Ganesh Rai from Sharjah Kannada Sangha were the special invitees.
 
Sachin Nayak was honoured with the award meant for model student, Kevin Mascaranes with ‘student of the year’ award and Alister Lobo with the ‘best outgoing student’ award. Shreyank Muralidhar, Adhithi Kumar and Reshma Vimal were also honoured for their achievements.
 
In the cultural programme, welcome song was rendered by Dr Uma and her group. Dance by kids and the traditional dance by Shodhan Nayak, comic interviews and other varieties of art made the audience to feel proud of the Karnataka culture.
 
Janardhan delivered the welcome address. Dr Kumar, Harish and Mamatha introduced the guests. Ummer Farooq and Savitha Nayak were the masters of the ceremony.

    Well organized programme and I wish Al Ain Buraimi Kannada Sangha should continue to do such traditional programmes in order to promote Kannada Art & Culture in foreign land. On behalf of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha my best wishes to all the Organisers and members.
