Udupi: Manipal Bids Wet & Colourful Farewell to Sultry May on the Last Day of Month

Udupi, Jun 1: Even though the excitement about the approaching monsoons is there in this region, Manipal saw a very hot and sultry Saturday May 30. But on Sunday May 31- yet another hot day, the evening saw some welcome showers. One of the first few monsoon showers lashed Manipal for almost an hour. Dark Clouds provided the much needed shade. The sun peeped out for a few seconds and a light but beautiful rainbow formed in the other direction.

Since it was the last day of May, 2009, it was kind of a perfect farewell to the summer season. Humidity which had crossed all barriers throughout the season finally started its downward growth, thanks to the welcome showers.

It's been a hot and sultry summer. People only hope that monsoons come soon and the much-awaited downpour occurs as fast as possible. Monsoons have their own charm and almost enliven the nature around us.

Here are a few amateur pictures clicked in Manipal during the brief showers on Sunday and just after it by Daijiworld contributor and well-wisher Divvy Kant Upadhyay.

Truly this is the place which has quality and standard in addition to the natural beauty. Although the distance to the Arabian Sea is around 10 KMS the altitude of this plateau keeps it cooler than any other places in Udupi. Humidity is also much lover and a very pleasant and ideal place to live where one has all the facilities and beauty of the nature.

Thanks Divvi, Manipal has become Money Pool now, Thanks to Pai''s and residents to maintain the place so well, undoubtedly one of the highest rated place in South Canara. With its educational atmosphere, MAHE University, MIT Engineering, KMC Medical, Valley View hotels and the end point parks and grounds makes the place venerable.
