Mangalore, May 29:
Sevak, a Konkani family monthly, being published by Capuchin friars, invites applications from Catholic parishioners from all over the diocese, to confer three awards, one for the family with highest religious vocations, the other for a couple that has led a long family life and the third, for a large family with more children, in order to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of Sevak, scheduled to be held in the second week of October this year.
 
The couple should have led the married life longest as on October 11, and the claim should be supported with a copy of the marriage certificate issued by their respective parish and a picture thereof should be sent to the Sevak office.

The family with more number of religious vocations should furnish information of their parents, diocese, religious order and other details along with pictures that should be sent to the Sevak office.
 
The details of largest family, the names of their parents and children, valid certificates including pictures should be sent to the Sevak office.
 
One can apply/recommend/ suggest names for awards, duly abiding by the parametres mentioned above separately and send the same latest by Wednesday September 3. 
 
The award consists of blessings from Pope Benedict XVI, citation letter, mementoes, cash award of Rs 10,000 each and felicitation.
 
The awards ceremony will be held at the golden jubilee celebrations programme on Sunday October 11.

    It is a very good step, to confer three awards on behalf of golden jubilee Celebration. Congratulations to Fr.J.Harry. I greatly appreciate the note of George Cruz,Managalore/USA, but the fact is that, in India we count in rupees, in USA-dollars. Dear brother George if you wish you can help Sevak to realize your expectation. Come on just a few dollars. All the best.

    The cash award of Rs.10000 is probably peanuts and they should up that to Rs.100000. Then of course you get Pope Benedict XVI ''s bleesing is invaluable.
