Dubai: Sudden Demise of Popular Kannada Activist Prabhakar Patte creates Void

Dubai, May 14: Prabhakar Patte, from a renowned lineage in Mangalore, who had been serving as an enthusiastic activist  of Karnataka Sangha here since over a decade  and also as the director of the executive committee of the Sangha, breathed his last all of a sudden on the evening of Wednesday May 13.

Patte always got involved with social service and the Sangha activities with renewed vigour and enthusiasm. Scores of people knew him. All the Kannadigas and Tuluvas settled here were shocked to hear this news. Besides mourning his death, they have wished that Patte's soul will rest in peace.

Patte was in an eminent position in Future Pipe Company for many years and was known  to be a skilled and gifted executive there.

Prabhakar Patte, who got his degree after studying in the government college Mangalore, was living in Dubai since the last three decades. He had functioned as the sports and membership secretary of Karnataka Sangha Dubai. He also worked as its joint secretary and earned lot of goodwill in all these positions besides the love and respect of the Sangha members. He had lot of interest in music, was a connoisseur of music and was himself a Tabla player. He had lot of interest in cricket and played in MEFA cup and other tournaments.

Patte's sudden demise has created a void in the field of Kannada activities in Dubai besides orphaning his wife Shobha Patte and children Nitin and Ashrita. Patte has left behind innumerable friends and well-wishers.

    It is really shocking news, I worked with Mrs. Shobha for 3 years and I met him during those days and found him very humble and kind hearted person, it is indeed a great loss for his family as well as to the society. We lost one of our prominent man from managlore he reminds me of my Dad who passed away 9 months back with his look as well as attitude . I can feel the pain of shoabaji and her children as I have gone through the same phase just few months back, I pray to GOD to give them the courage to withstand this great loss , May his soul rest in peace ,
