Mumbai, May 8: Savio Barnes, son of Stany and Leena Barnes, hailing from Udyavar, in Udupi district, residing at Vijay Nagar, Marol – Maroshi, Andheri (East) here, has reached the semi-final of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contest, (Jhalak Dikhhla Jha - Season 3) underway at Film City, Goregaon (East) in the metro.

Savio made it to the semi-final in the ninth round of the contest with his partner Hard Kaur from Punjab.

Hard Kaur, is an Indian rapper, and singer, often called the first female Indian rapper, and the first female Punjabi rapper.

She first shot to fame with the song Glassy, which was a huge hit. Her Bollywood break appeared in 2007, in Sriram Raghavan's movie Johnny Gaddaar. Since then she has sung numerous songs in movies like Ugly Aur Pagli, Singh Is King, Kismat Konnection, and Bachna Ae Haseeno.

The dance contest is produced by BBC Worldwide and the finals will be relayed by Sony TV on Saturday May 23.

The contest began in early April and is judged by veteran Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla, eminent choreographers Saroj Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant.

Savio has urged his fans across Karnataka to cast their votes in his favour to help him emerge victorious in the contest.
