Nandita Screened Film for Rahul Gandhi?

TNN

New Delhi, May 6: Actress and filmmaker Nandita Das doesn’t know whether to be amused or upset.

Denying reports that said she held a private screening of her directorial debut Firaaq for Rahul Gandhi, Nandita says, “Some reports had me saying ‘no’ to Narendra Modi and ‘yes’ to Rahul. Nothing like that happened.

The screening in Delhi was for friends and the organisers invited Rahul. I wasn’t aware till the last minute. He just dropped by, saw the film and loved it. We interacted briefly and I felt he was a nice guy.”

She’s upset at how media persons gave her quotes new meaning. “Some journos asked me if I would screen Firaaq for Modi before the film’s release in Gujarat, and I replied why should I, I don’t need anyone’s permission to release it,” revealed the actress who was harassed by calls after this report appeared. “I have always stayed away from politics and I would like it like that. Which party I support is my choice.”

Busy reading scripts for her next film which she may act in and direct, Nandita is also unhappy about her alleged affair with Rahul Bose. “We have a great rapport and are great friends. We have acted in five films. I should be spoken about for my work. I don’t appreciate people snooping into my personal life,” she complained.
