Mumbai, Apr 22:
Metro’s north-central LS Congress candidate Priya Dutt stormed Qureshi Nagar and other parts of Kurla (E) in the city, with a four-hour Padayatra. She was joined by a few hundred supporters to begin with, but as she entered Qureshi Nagar, she was followed by a motley crowd of  supporters and well wishers.

At every junction, more and more people joined the Dutt Caravan.

Priya then climbed the Qureshi Nagar Dongar (Hill) and met the people living in the area. Women in particular, came out in large numbers to greet their favourite candidate. People were found to be unanimous in their choice.

The important factor was that workers of rival parties also joined in the Padayatra to support Priya Dutt.

Priya Dutt also inaugurated her election office at Qureshi Nagar, which is  also known as Kasai Wada.

The entire atmosphere was electric and the response tremendous.

Flowers rained from the roof tops all along the route of Priya's Padayatra. She was joined by prominent Congress and NCP activists including NCP women’s wing president Alpana Painter and NCP corporator and minister Nawab Malik’s brother Kaptan Malik.

The same scenes were witnessed in Priya Dutt Padayatra at Bharat Nagar, Kherwadi on Tuesday April 21 evening. She was accompanied by Congress MLA Janardhan Chandurkar and senior NCP leader Vijay Kamble.

’Last time Priya Dutt had won by a record margin of over 1.72 lac votes, and  we are eyeing a bigger victory this time, judging from the response of the people,’ said Krishna Hegde, co-ordinator of the Priya Dutt campaign.
