Mangaluru, May 18: Sandeep Malani is a proud Mangalurean. He feels very proud and always feels happy to be recognised everywhere as a Mangalurean star, actor and director. Malani started his career in films – 25 years ago with the Tulu hit film, Bangar Patler directed by Dr Richard Castelino. He then went on to do September 8 and Konkani film Bogsanhe for the director. It was only after that he moved to Kannada films with many films playing supporting characters. From Kannada to Tamil, Telugu, Hindi language films. But, his roots being Mangaluru, always loved to play, act, stage shows in Tulu, Konkani in Mangaluru.





Also when Malani turned director with his film SMS 6260, he shot the entire film in Mangaluru and had many Mangalurean Tulu and Konkani actors playing character roles in it. Even his films Janleva 555 and Maa – yeh Cinemaa Hai has many Mangalurean actors making their screen presence in Bollywood.

With having good and friendly connection with all the stars and technicians of Mangaluru, and also directing Tulu Cinemotsava two years ago, Malani has got support and co-operation from his well-wishers for his latest Kannada film Mookavismitha that has released on Friday all over Karnataka.

Dr Richard Castelino, Devdas Kapikad, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Naveen Padil, Arvind Bolar, Arjun Kapikad, Sonal Monteiro, Deepak Palladka, Dolla Nandigudda, Roopesh Shetty, Anoop Sagar, Shine Shetty, Sahieel Rai, Sarojini Shetty and many others from Tulu and Konkani film industry have given good wish video messages and have encouraged the audience and fans to watch the film and support the Mangalurean talented actor director Sandeep Malani. These video messages have gone viral all over the social media sites and fans and other troll pages have shared it too on youtube, whatsapp groups, facebook posts, instagrams and twitter.

Showing the gratitude and thanking everyone for their love and support, Malani has planned for a star studded special screening of the film in one of the city’s multiplex over the weekend. This will be an event to wait for.

Mookavismitha is directed by debutante Gurudutt Sreekanth, and is based on the famous playwright TP Kailasam’s play Tollu Gatti. The film is set in the 1950’s era in which Sandeep Malani plays the head of the family Hiriyanna, a rough tough egoistic and a strict Havyaka Brahmin. In the age of 55, when he has two married sons, he becomes a father of an infant girl child. This irks him and he always creates a problem to his wife and his family members. The cast includes Pushpa Raghavendra, Krupa Prahalad, Chandra Keerti, Mavalli Karthik, Vanishree Bhat and Shubha Raksha.

With support of Meena Malani for the premiere show, the promotion of the film is handled by Malani Talkies.
