Bengaluru, Feb 28: In what comes as a major relief to Water Resources minister D K Shivakumar, a special court granted him clean chit in three of the four cases registered against him by the Income tax department.
The minister has got clean chit in cases related to tearing of a sheet of paper in frenzy during the income tax raid, destruction of evidence and a controversial statement.

It may be recalled that on August 1, 2017, Income tax department carried out raids at Bengaluru and New Delhi residences of the minister. Four cases were registered against him but during the trial the minister had argued that there was no evidence to prove the charges.
On Thursday, February 28, the court has relieved him of the three cases. One case related to hawala transactions is still pending in the court.
