Mangaluru, Feb 27: DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla lashed out at MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and said that he has failed to keep up to his promises.
Addressing a protest held on Wednesday, February 27, demanding Gurpur-Kaikamba road widening work should resume, Katipalla said, "Due to the irresponsible and inefficient MP, several highways have turned death traps for pedestrians and commuters.”
He also highlighted the incomplete Pumpwell and Thokkottu flyovers, illegal toll collection in Surathkal, abruptly stopping B C Road-Gundya four lane road works as the MP’s failures.
"The so called number one MP as addressed by his supporters, has failed to raise issues related to Dakshina Kannada in New Delhi. He has also failed to stand in solidarity with the public in issues related to Vijaya Bank merger, Mangaluru port and airport privatisation," he alleged.
Local CPI(M) leaders, representatives of farmer union, social activists, CITU leaders and others were present.

Wed, Feb 27 2019If you travel Mangalore to Karkal via moodbidri you will find its a dangerous narrow road to drive. Then there are these monster trucks n express busses making travel even worse. The road leading to a smart city is pathetic. Not even 1feet is widened inspite of many protests. In 10 years our MP could not even widen the road by 1 feet.
