Chikkamagaluru, Feb 27: Udupi - Chikkamagaluru MP, Shobha Karandlaje, proposes to fight the coming Lok Sabha election this time too from this constituency, but she is facing stiff resistance from the people. Some people had launched 'Go Back Shobha' campaign sometime back through social websites, but she had termed it as a handiwork of a handful of people.
It is gathered that at the district level BJP core committee meeting, the members expressed opposition to her candidature. Some leading members of the committee, it is said, expressed themselves against this proposal and took her to task. They wanted her to spell out her achievements on the basis of which workers can seek votes for the party. "You had said in the past that you would not contest from her this time. Therefore, other leaders were preparing to fight the election. Now, your entry has turned the situation volatile," they complained.

The members also pointed out that the ESI Hospital sanctioned to the district was allotted to Belagavi district as the officials did not send proposal in time.
Shobha clarified that she had been given various responsibilities by the party as a result of which she had to move around the state during zilla panchayat and assembly elections. She told them that if she was to discharge responsibility pertaining to this constituency alone, she could have handled it properly.

Wed, Feb 27 2019Abdul,
Congress party is mainly responsible for this because of their too much minorities appeasement politics, They were in the illusion that if part of majority votes us along with minority votes no one will touch them. But, it was too late for congress, when majority started to realize congress party's this dirty politics and started to cast their votes to BJP.

Wed, Feb 27 2019I agree with you the main reason for Assembly elections result in DK and Udupi in favour to BJP .Kapu,Udupi and Baindur in Udupi and Mangalore south ,Mangalore North and Puttur constituency result is the example . In that constituency previous MLA s did good job even they lost because of congress partys appeasement politics and Ramantha rai stupid speech.

Wed, Feb 27 2019Abdul...
There was a time. Even Lamp Posts used to win on Congress name and symbol.
Oscarji was one example. Do not know for sure...but I think he was a Tempo or Mr.T A Pai's driver then. Just like Sri.J.Shareif was Sri.Nijalingapaji's driver. Like many say Kamal Nath was Rajivji's driver. All of them won purely because of the party...not because they were drivers of vehicles.
Times and Tides have changed.
Now if you only have the 'drive' you will win...
Forget Bhakthi...Mukhti...

Wed, Feb 27 2019This is a clear admission from Shobha that she has done nothing for this constituency. Her first duty was to serve the people who had reposed faith in her and voted her. However, she thought it fit not to serve the people of this constituency but to go and serve someone else. I am sure readers are clever enough to know who that person is.
