Borivali Billava Team Wins ‘Kantabare Boodabare’ Championship

Mumbai, Jan 30:
India’s former hockey captain Dhanaraj Pillai inaugurated the ‘Kantaboore Boodabare–2009’ tournament that was held recently at Karnataka sports grounds, Church Gate. It was organized by the Yuvabhyudaya sub-committee of the metro’s Billava Association. 
 
Former Olympian S S Narayanan, international athlete Gopal Kiriyoor, and Billava Association vice-president Vasudev R Kotian were the chief guests on the occasion.
 


Kantabare Boodabare organized football and throwball competitions for men and women, respectively.  Borivali Billava team bagged the championship trophy while Santa Cruz Billava team was the runners-up in football.  Vasai Billava women’s team bagged the championship trophy while Goregaon Billava team was the runners-up in throwsball. 
 
Billava Association vice-presidents Y Nagesh and L V Amin, and honourary chief secretary Nityanand D Kotian, presented the trophies to the winners in the valedictory ceremony.
 
Yuvabhyudaya sub-committee president Mohandas G Poojary, honorary secretary Dharmapal G Anchan, Association honorary treasurer Bhaskar Bangera, joint secretaries C T Salian and Shankar D Poojary, women’s wing president Jayanti Ullal, and vice-president S Poojary were present on the occasion.
