Mumbai, Jan 12: Abhishek Bachchan is presently shooting an elaborate song with as many as 500 dancers.

A Mani Ratnam film is sure to have at least one lavish song with a huge troupe. From ‘Kehna Hi Kya’ in ‘Bombay’ to ‘Tere Bina’ in Guru , Ratnam is known to add a dash of opulence to his celluloid dramas with ornately shot songs. He is doing the same in his latest film Ravana .

The director is presently shooting a lavish song titled ‘Kata Kata Mara Mara’ with Abhishek Bachchan and Ravi Kishen in Jhansi. Around 500 dancers, trained for the song by choreographer Ganesh Acharya are taking part in the shooting.

The track has been composed by A R Rahman , who has just won the first Golden Globe ever by an Indian music director for his score in Slumdog Millionaire .

According to reports, the song mainly focuses on Abhishek and talks about his character in the film.

Abhishek has been going through a lot of physical toil for this film. He’s had to brave the leeches, insects and the natural elements while shooting the film earlier in the jungles of Kochi.

The movie stars Aishwarya Rai opposite Abhi.

There have been rumours that the film is based on the epic ‘Ramayana’, but a source from the unit says it is not.
