Governor Asks Deshmukh to Continue till Alternate Arrangement Made

Mumbai, Dec 5: The Governor of Maharashtra S C Jamir today accepted the resignation of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and asked him and his Council of Ministers to continue in their offices till alternate arrangements are made.

 


Deshmukh met the Governor at Raj Bhavan this morning and tendered his resignation as Chief Minister of Maharashtra alongwith that of all the members of his Council of Ministers.
 
President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Manikrao Thakre, Ministers Harshvardhan Patil and Balasaheb Thorat accompanied the Chief Minister at the meeting with the Governor.
