Mangalore, Nov 6: Chief minister (CM) B S Yeddyurappa, during an interaction with the Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar on Wednesday November 5, assured that the decision to ban movement of private buses on national highways in the state will be reviewed, as the issue is delicate as well as sensitive, after holding consultations with the transport minister and other officials.

Palemar had met B S Yeddyurappa during his brief halt at the Bajpe airport enroute to a Kerala temple on Wednesday November 6 and apprised the CM about a sense of let-down and devastation the private bus owners of the district are caught in,   after the issuance of a statement by the transport minister R Ashok about banning of private bus movement on highways and nationalizing the city bus services here.

During his brief stop-over, the chief minister held discussions about developmental activities and problems faced by Dakshina Kannada district, with Palemar and deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao. Palemar requested the CM to take steps to make the thoroughly damaged roads of Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts motorable  at the earliest and got the assurance from the CM that  grants  required would be released shortly, after discussing with officials.

Ministers Shobha Karandlaje and Ramachandra Gowda, airport director M R Vasudev, local tahsildar Raju Movageera, western range inspector general of police A M Prasad and district superintendent of police Sateesh Kumar were present.
